                                            "Scarlett" Our Pot Bellied Pig

Scarlet is our 7 year old pot bellied pig.  She runs free around the property, eating plants (especially the ones you can't wait to bloom...uhh)  and anything else in her path.  Her excuse?  She is very clear, "It is [her] Yard"!  When she finishes her morning grazing, you can find her lying around sun bathing.  She has her very own pig house (named Tara of course) next door to our main barn.   Sometimes she walks around the deck of the house just waiting on a treat.  You never know where she will pop up next; but, you can always count on her being in the main barn at least two times daily, promptly at feed time (oink...oink).

                                                                                            Muscovy Ducks

We enjoy our ducks!  They float and fly around our pond, creeks, pasture and yard.  The most beautiful site is watching them as they fly from the pasture, landing in the surrounding waters.  The group unity and solid white color (coupled with the whipping of their wings) and the carefully guided landings is just amazing!   During spring we have little yellow baby ducks running around everywhere.  Baby ducks born 4/30/08, see picture above.

                                                                                      Great Pyreenes Dogs

Problem: Coyotes. . . Solution:  Great Pyreenes Dogs!  Wonderful guard dogs and even better pets!  Since adopting two gentle giants, all is well.  Haven't lost a duck yet!  You would think these dogs were born and raised here.  They both have a very important job to protect our farm and they take their job very seriously.  King and Lady have quickly become part of our family.

            Barn Cat "Max"

Our frisky, feline, friend Max was rescued early 2006. He eats, sleeps, and plays with the mice.
